Marwa Zein, Sudanese filmmaker, was born in Saudi Arabia and studied in Cairo and currently she’s in Paris.
After studying Chemical Engineering for 3 years in Cairo University, she decided to quit & pursued studying at the High Institute of Cinema in Cairo; graduated in 2009 with an honorable mention.
She’s an Alumni of many prestigious film institutions such as Berlin-ale, IDFA & Durban Talent Campus.
Her graduation project “a game” is award winning short film internationally and nationally that was translated into 5 languages, and selected in Cannes Short Corner 2010
in 2015 was selected to attend film course in Denmark National Film School by Professor Arne Bro
Since 2014, She is working as film programmer for Sudan Independent Film Festival
Her 1st Long documentary film Off Khartoum Sides is supported by IDFA ,AFAC and CNC
Her new short fiction “One week, Two days” has it’s World premiere in Dubai International Film Festival and Officially selected in 4 International and national film festivals since then.
ORE Productions is her own production company that’s under construction right now and the base would be in Khartoum- Sudan.
